Study In Rome - June 23-30, 2008

The Lay Centre in Rome has asked me to let you know about a wonderful educational opportunity for you that will be held again this summer in Rome. It is a special one-week seminar inspired by the Bishops' document Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord. The seminar is entitled "Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord: Called to Communion, Called to Mission." It is scheduled for June 23--30.

I helped to design the program and participated in its maiden voyage last summer, along with AGPIM member, Jean Marie Weber. We had a magnificent time!

You can learn more about the Lay Center by visiting its website: http://www.laycentre.org/

The specific link to a description of this summer's seminar is: http://www.laycentre.org/coworkers08home.html

Now for the additional news:

The Lay Centre will offer four scholarships for lay ministry students from the U.S. interested in participating in the seminar. The scholarships will cover the registration and tuition ($550) and will also include free accommodations at the Lay Centre facility (site of the program) for up to eight nights. This leaves the individual with the responsibility for his or her airline transportation and personal expenses.

If you are interested contact the Lay Centre directly by email at: info@laycentre.org

There will be a simple application and selection process involved. The deadline for applying is March 25. Those selected will be informed by April 1.
