St. Elizabeth High School, a small co-educational college prep school in Oakland, seeks an experienced Director of Development whose overall responsibility is to organize and lead a comprehensive development program to generate support for the fullest attainment of the school’s unique educational mission.

Qualifications:

-minimum of three to five years of experience in a nonprofit, fund-raising setting; Catholic school experience is preferred;
-expertise in foundation research and grant writing, annual funds, major gift solicitation and public relations;
-exceptional writing, editorial, and interpersonal communication skills;
-strong sense of initiative and drive to expand current successful programs;
-highly organized with excellent team skills;
-proficient in Excel, Word, Donor Perfect or other donor tracking software (Access a plus).

St. Joseph Parish, Pinole – Director of Religious Education II (Director of Faith Formation)

St. Joseph Parish, Pinole, CA, is an active, ethnically diverse Catholic community of more than 3500 households. The parish has established Faith Formation programs: Grades 1-6, Sacramental Preparation, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Youth Ministry, and Confirmation. The parish has a K-8 parochial school, RCIA and other adult formation programs. This is an opportunity for a resourceful, multi-talented, and collaborative person to make a significant contribution to the ministry of Catholic Faith Formation.

Primary responsibility will be the direction of the Elementary, Sacramental Preparation, and Children’s Liturgy of the Word Faith Formation programs. Secondary responsibility will be oversight of all Faith Formation Programs and liaison with the Youth Ministry Director, School Principal, and the religion department of the parochial school. The Director of Faith Formation recruits and supervises volunteer catechists, plans and facilitates meetings, schedules classes and facilities in collaboration with parish and school staff, selects and orders materials and books, reports to the pastor, and serves as member of parish staff

Qualifications: Practicing, fully initiated Roman Catholic; master’s degree in theology, religious education, or equivalent; 3-5 years experience in the field; managerial skills; ability to collaborate with parish and school staff, and volunteers.

Salary and Benefits: Full-time (40 hour) exempt position (some evening and weekend required), M-5 classification according to diocesan scale and benefits.

Franciscan School of Theology, Berkeley, CA – Assistant Professor of Intercultural Theologies and Ministry

The Franciscan School of Theology, a Roman Catholic graduate school and seminary preparing candidates for ministry and academic leadership, is seeking to fill a full-time tenure track position in Intercultural Theologies and Ministry, beginning in the Fall 2008 at the Assistant Professor level. Responsibility will include supervision of the Ministry Seminar components of the Masters in Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Arts in Ministry for a Multicultural Church (MAMC) degree programs.

Qualifications: Earned PhD (or equivalent) in the area of intercultural/ interdisciplinary study of theology and ministry; compatibility with FST's mission of educating candidates for the priesthood and lay ministry in the Franciscan tradition; documented record of intercultural ministry and administrative experience; evidence of potential for effective teaching, service to the community, and continued scholarly work; fluency in both English and Spanish; member of a Roman Catholic religious community.
